Overview

A rapidly growing Colorado-based construction and utilities company is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join their payroll team. This is a direct hire position with a competitive salary range of $70,000 to $87,000 annually.

In this fast-paced role, you will be responsible for processing weekly payroll for over 2,000 employees across multiple states, including union and prevailing wage compliance. You will perform complex data entry, manual report manipulation, and detailed investigations to ensure payroll accuracy.

You will be part of a small, close-knit team that values collaboration, motivation, and a strong work ethic. This position requires full-time, on-site work in South Denver (Denver Tech Center), with a flexible schedule.

Responsibilities
  • Process weekly payroll for over 2,000 employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Manage and analyze prevailing wage and union payroll data, performing detailed data entry and manual report manipulation
  • Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies, acting as a support center for field employees with payroll and timesheet questions
  • Utilize Excel extensively, including Pivot Tables, to manage and analyze payroll data outside of the payroll system
  • Cross-train on various payroll functions to maintain a flexible, plug-and-play team environment
  • Collaborate with payroll team members to maintain data integrity and compliance with company policies and labor regulations
  • Assist with payroll system improvements and reporting to support the company’s rapid growth and operational needs
Requirements
  • Payroll processing in a fast-paced environment - minimum of four years
  • Strong proficiency in Excel, including Pivot Tables and data analysis
  • Knowledge of prevailing wage and union payroll regulations is a strong plus
  • Excellent communication skills and a genuine commitment to supporting field employees
  • comfortable working onsite 5 days a week with flexible start/end times
