Primarily responsible for creating machine learning analytics that will be integrated into streaming data processing pipelines and appealing user interfaces that provide real-time situational awareness and expose advanced analytics to end users. This includes advanced mathematical and statistical analysis for manipulating, formatting, and corroborating data sources. Data scientists are responsible for generating "gold" data sets for training, testing, and verification of concepts and models.

Applies computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis concepts and principles in the development of machine learning analytics for the target application. Works closely with cross functional members of the engineering organization to develop and evaluate interfaces between streaming data processing pipelines and software, and operational performance requirements and design of the overall system. Develops analytics test procedures, analytics, and related documentation.

Specialists are full performance engineers that can execute derived tasks autonomously and seamlessly work as part of a team contributing to larger technical objectives.
