- Lead the accurate and timely processing of the company's payroll on a bi‑weekly basis for 2000+ employees
- Manage, train and provide guidance to payroll team.
- Ensure all payroll transactions are compliant with company policies and legal regulations
- Supervise and mentor payroll team members, providing guidance and support in resolving complex payroll issues
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws, including filing of necessary payroll‑related tax forms. Stay updated on relevant tax changes and labor laws
- Generate and review regular payroll reports for internal and external stakeholders. Provide insights on payroll costs, trends, and potential savings opportunities
- Oversee and maintain payroll software systems, ensuring accurate data entry, system configuration, and troubleshooting of issues
- Manage payroll audits and work with external auditors to provide necessary documentation and ensure smooth audit processes. Reconcile payroll‑related accounts regularly
- Coordinate with HR to ensure proper deductions for benefits, taxes, and retirement plans
- Continuously evaluate and improve payroll processes to increase efficiency, accuracy, and employee satisfaction
- Assist in special payroll‑related projects, including system upgrades, policy changes, or benefits adjustments
- The individual in this role should be able and willing to travel as required by E2 Optics
- High school diploma or GED required
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in payroll activities
- At least 3 years of supervisory experience
- Experience managing payroll for employees located across multiple states
- Experience working for start‑ups or high‑growth organizations preferred
- Experience with Net Suite preferred
- Proficiency with payroll software (e.g., Paycom, Bamboo) and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
- Strong understanding of payroll regulations, tax laws, and compliance issues at the federal, state, and local levels
- Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and effectively resolve employee concerns
- Knowledge of benefits administration or human resources processes a plus
