Kelly Services in partnership with Nissan is currently seeking high skilled individuals to fill Production Technician openings at the Nissan manufacturing plant located in Canton, MS.
Job Description Job OverviewAssembles, quality tests and packages disposable medical device products according to company procedures and within production schedule guidelines. Products to be assembled includes but is not limited to tube sets, valves, inlets, I.V. admixture supplies and other disposable products.
Essential Functions- PRODUCTIVITY: Meets personal and team expectations for productivity including Takt Time (production targets based on customer demand) and other established goals. Participates in Kaizen or other process changes designed to improve productivity.
- QUALITY: Performs assembly of disposable products according to procedures, quality manual and other company guidelines. Uses correct parts in their intended manner; identifies and corrects non-conforming parts or assemblies.
- TEAMWORK / COMMUNICATION: Job is performed in an interdependent team setting, which requires individuals to work with other team members and groups to accomplish the goal. Works with co‑workers to solve problems and make improvements in processes. Treats others with dignity, respect and consideration.
- SAFETY: Follows all safety guidelines for the department and completes tasks in a safe manner. Raises issues and concerns to members of management, when observed.
- TRAINING: Participates and successfully completes required training to ensure proficiency and understanding of Baxter processes, procedure and policies.
Specific responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Perform day‑to‑day production activities by using the most current procedures in order to maintain production schedules.
- Follow instructions outlined by the supervisor or manager regarding priorities, work schedule and other assignments including cross‑training and/or working in other departments.
- Meet customer demand for products.
- Use tools and equipment properly to assemble products in accordance with completed training.
- Follow all policies, procedures, and drawings for accuracy and quality.
- Participate in training activities to develop, maintain and improve job skills.
- Identify and suggest areas of improvement to strive towards a continuous quality improvement organization; participate in Kaizen events and other improvement activities.
- Retrieve, understand and follow computer-based work instructions.
- Perform visual checks of product to assure quality.
- Identify and correct non‑conforming parts.
- Maintain a safe work environment by following good housekeeping and company guidelines for safety; using tools and equipment safely and only after appropriate training.
- Implement Lean Production methods such as flow production, Kanban, Just‑In‑Time, visual controls, and other methods to minimize product cost; work continuously to improve established metrics.
- Must have fine motor skills and manual dexterity to assemble, glue and manipulate plastic tubing, small parts and components.
- Must have basic computer skills to access information from a computer regularly.
- Must have basic written and oral communication skills adequate to communicate with other team members, understand verbal instructions, and read and comprehend written work instructions including words and drawings.
- Must have the ability to organize and prioritize tasks independently.
- Must have visual acuity to distinguish colors and recognize non‑conforming parts.
- Must have ability to work as a member of a team.
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
ExperienceEntry level assembly abilities – Good manual dexterity.

- Silicone dispenser
- Solvent bonding chemical
- Alcohol
- Vice grips
- Bagger/Sealer
- Office equipment such as telephone, copy machine
- Scales for weight counting
- Sitting 95% of workday; reaching, bending, standing the remaining 5%.
- May be required to stand for the full duration of the shift based on daily task assignment(s) per the shift supervisor.
- Clean Room environment.
- Work space is in a well‑lit and ventilated clean room assembly environment.
- 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM Saturday through Tuesday.
Pay Rate: $15 – $16/hr
Top 3 Must-Haves- Ability to sit for long periods of time.
- Entry level assembly abilities – Good manual dexterity.
- Basic computer skills.
