Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Neuro Med Surg unit position requiring a CO or compact RN license, heavy med-surg background, and NIH certification.

• Work in a Neuro Med Surg unit within a hospital setting
• Unit consists of 38 beds and a staff of 55
• Day shift from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM with a 4-5:1 RN to patient ratio and 2 patient care techs on shift
• Patient population includes neurological and general medical-surgical cases
• Uses IV pumps, seizure monitoring, Bi-pap/C-pap (primarily at night), and glucometers
• EMR system is Meditech
• Responsibilities include NIH/stroke/neuro assessments, fall risk assessments, trach care, and feeding tube management
• Team-oriented environment with two charge RNs and two patient care techs during the day
• A highly motivated, team-player attitude is valued
• All certifications must be current and not expire within the first 30 days of assignment
• First-time travelers will be considered

• Active CO or compact RN license required
• Current BLS and NIHSS certifications are required; ACLS preferred
• Minimum of one year of recent Med Surg nursing experience required
• Heavy med-surg background and neuro experience preferred
• Must provide US Social Security Number and date of birth for consideration
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more in the past 12 months
