American Traveler is hiring a Psychiatric RN for an overnight behavioral health position requiring CO or compact RN licensure and 1+ years of experience.
Requirements- Active RN license (CO or Compact) required
- BLS and HWC certifications required
- Minimum 1+ years of RN experience required
- Deescalation skills required
- Behavioral health, medical, or dual diagnosis experience preferred
- Ability to perform CIWA and COWS assessments preferred
- Must complete a Colorado Adult Protective Services (CAPS) check prior to start
- Must complete CBI fingerprinting prior to start
- Behavioral health unit within a 96-bed acute stabilization hospital with 4 units of 20-26 patients each
- Patient population includes adolescents (13-17) and adults 18+ across Adult Mental Wellness, Adult Acute, and Adult Dual Diagnosis/SUD units
- Patient ratios approximately 1:12 on Adolescent, Adult Mental Wellness, and Adult Acute units, and 1:10 on Adult Dual Diagnosis/SUD
- Average length of stay is 7-10 days
- Uses HCS EHR system
- Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
- Every other weekend required
- Floating to all units as necessary
- On-call includes being contacted for shift call-offs or openings
- Provide direct nursing care within a behavioral health setting focused on acute stabilization
- Professional personality fit expected given the behavioral health patient population
- Navy scrub color required; casual attire not permitted
- Must reside 60 miles or greater from the facility to be eligible for the travel rate
- Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
- Must not be employed elsewhere on a full-time basis while on assignment
- Biweekly orientation held on Mondays
