Samaritans Purse is seeking an (on-call) Security Officer to serve at our Ministry Center located in Englewood, CO and Aurora, CO. In this role, you will have the opportunity to serve in an on-call capacity as coverage for our full-time Security Officers. You will be given the responsibility to protect the safety and well-being of all persons and property at your assigned Samaritans Purse location.

* This is an on-call position. Based on the need, shifts could range from 8
-12 hours. Opportunities to cover 1st or 2nd shifts, up to a full 3-5 day shift are available.

A Day in the Life of a Security Officer (On-Call):

In the role of Security Officer (On-Call), you will have the opportunity to:

• Maintain your personal relationship with Jesus Christ and be an effective witness for Him
• Conduct yourself as a security professional at all times, creating an atmosphere to deter undesirable activity
• Greet all staff and visitors whenever practical to maintain a consistent visible presence
• Screen pedestrian and vehicular traffic for authorization to enter the premises
• Operate various equipment, such as card access, fire and burglar alarms, video cameras, and ministry vehicles
• Report hazardous conditions and follow all call-in procedures in case of emergency
• Identify threatening individuals and alert local law enforcement
• Be familiar with all Samaritans Purse facilities, policies, procedures, and regulations that affect the safety and security of all occupants
• Monitor activity across campus through regular physical patrols and the use of video surveillance
• Control access to campus during non-business hours; open/close and secure all buildings as scheduled
• Document all note-worthy activity in the shift log or appropriate incident report
• Basic Law Enforcement Training and minimum 3 years experience as Law Enforcement Officer or equivalent, required
• Must be eligible to complete and pass any required training and certifications
• Basic keyboarding and computer skills, strongly preferred
• Motivated self-starter; sees a need and takes initiative
• Trustworthy and mature
• Patient when tasks are routine, but quick on their feet to respond to a crisis
• Fluency in English, required
