Under the direction of the QA Supervisor, the Quality Auditor provides support to production and the Quality Management System (QMS) by performing inspection activities on products at each stage of operations, ensuring quality specifications adhere to prints/drawings, inspection sheets, and travelers. This position also monitors product identification, calibration, and ensures products meet customer expectations.
What You’ll Do- Product testing and inspection (visual, dimensional, pressure decay, vacuum decay, etc.)
- Cross‑checks of product at each stage of operations against prints/drawings, traveler, inspection sheets, control plan, and visual criteria
- Issue gauges to employees and ensure gauges are calibrated and properly identified
- Collect and enter inspection results and/or quality records
- Monitor gauge inventory and other quality supplies
- Identify and report nonconforming product
- Ensure product is inspected or tested according to the inspection protocol or plan
- Train operations personnel on quality expectations when inspection processes change
- Assist with plant‑wide communication of quality alerts or concerns
- Have authority to stop production when nonconforming parts are detected
- Assist members of the quality department as needed and as time permits
- Other duties as assigned
- High school diploma or GED required
- 20/20 vision in at least one eye; must not be color blind (magnifying lenses permitted if normally used)
- 2‑3 years of experience in a related quality function
- Solid understanding of metal fabrication concepts and processes
- Attention to detail
- Ability to determine material types and gauges
- Proficient in reading blueprints
- Must be able to navigate a Windows‑based computer environment
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, etc.)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 lb, frequently up to 50 lb, and occasionally 100 lb with assistance

NOTE:
Given the nature/size of our product and customer requirements, we require a stringent hiring process:
Basic Skills/Measurement Test, Blueprint Reading Test, Pre‑Employment Physical & Drug Screen.
Ability to stand, sit, walk, bend, twist, stoop, pull, push, assemble, and carry for extended periods. Lift and/or move up to 25 lb regularly, frequently up to 50 lb, and occasionally 100 lb with an assist.
Work EnvironmentManufacturing setting with high noise levels, dust, chemicals, oil, and grease. Environmental conditions may be hot, cold, or humid.
