Travel RN - Telemetry - Stepdown

American Traveler is hiring a night-shift RN for a Stepdown unit position requiring tele interpretation skills and Epic charting experience.

• Active RN license, OH state or compact license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• IV Start and Telemetry certifications required
• Epic charting experience required
• Skilled in IV therapy, central/peripheral line care, and PICC line management
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and management
• Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips without titration
• Completion of lab work and EKG/Dysrhythmia exam within 72 hours of signing contract required

• Stepdown unit caring for telemetry and surgical patients in a 39-bed unit
• Typical patient ratio of 1:4 to 1:5
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:30
• 13 or 18 week winter contract options available
• Requires reading and interpreting telemetry strips
• Floating required to Main, South, and North campus locations based on census and skill set
• Must work every other weekend and every other holiday
• Provide direct patient care on a combined telemetry and surgical stepdown unit
• Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry readings for assigned patients
• Maximum of 14 days RTO allowed per contract, with no negotiation after offer
• Local candidates within 50 miles are not accepted
• Previous PERM/PRN staff or agency travelers not extended due to tenure must wait 6 months before reapplying
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
