Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
The Die Maintenance Technician applies knowledge of tool and die design and construction, shop mathematics, metal properties and layout, machining, and assembly procedures to repair and fabricate dies.
Responsibilities:- Maintains, troubleshoots, and debugs progressive die tooling. Repair of any problems.
- Capable to direct engineering changes, replacement parts, gauges and special tooling.
- Plans jobs and routes throughout shop working
- Performs in-process inspections.
- Must be able to troubleshoot and repair dies in press if needed
- Completes safety inspections on tools prior to sending to production.
- Installs tool sensors when applicable
- Provide Engineering expertise, direction and assistance as required in resolving tooling related problems.
- Assist in the development and the maintenance of tooling.
- Develops, proposes and implements tooling and equipment improvements to foster an environment of continuous improvement on the shop floor
- Must be able to keep accurate die maintenance records.
One to five years experience and/or training; equivalent combination of education and experience. Progressive die experience is also preferred.
