Maternal Child Clinical Faculty (Part-Time), OK

Chamberlain College of Nursing seeks qualified Maternal Child Faculty for our Bachelor of Science in Nursing program in Oklahoma.

Teaching will be onsite in a clinical setting with a local partner. Most common schedule is 12‑hour rotations (7 a.m.–7 p.m.) for three to four consecutive days.

Maternal‑Child Nursing Course Overview

This course focuses on family‑centered approaches to maternal/newborn care and incorporates health promotion and wellness issues. Topics include the childbearing cycle, normal experience, high‑risk factors, complications, and alterations. It also covers additional women’s health issues, with experiential learning in diverse populations and settings.

Responsibilities
  • Implements the College's philosophy, curriculum, program outcomes, and course objectives through clinical teaching and service to the College, community, health system, and profession.
  • Assumes responsibility for autonomous aspects of individual teaching assignments.
  • Plans and provides direct supervision and evaluation of nursing students delivering care to one individual or a group.
  • Evaluates and documents feedback to students based on course objectives.
  • Provides remediation to students as needed.
  • Stays current with agency/clinical policies, procedures, and expectations with agency support.
  • Develops and posts written clinical assignments that match students’ knowledge, skill competency, and learning needs.
  • Grades homework, quizzes, tests, lab assignments, clinical paperwork, and other written work promptly.
  • May teach didactic content under course coordinator supervision.
  • Keeps the course coordinator informed of all student and agency issues and concerns.
  • Reports to the dean, assistant dean, or course coordinator.
  • Contributes to ongoing development, implementation, and evaluation of the programs and the College.
  • Works with college administration, staff, and faculty to improve operations and student satisfaction.
  • Participates in the College Assessment Program, campus retention efforts, and departmental/campus policies.
  • Serves as a professional role model in customer service, collaboration, communication, excellence, dressing, attendance, and general professionalism.
  • Utilizes relationship skills for group problem‑solving, consensus building, and win‑win negotiation.
  • Complies with applicable regulatory rules and standards.
Qualifications
  • Master's or doctoral degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited college or university.
  • Unencumbered professional nursing license in the state of Oklahoma.
  • At least two years of professional experience in the last five years in instructional work as a registered nurse.
  • Teaching or precepting experience is preferred but not required.
  • Genuine passion for nursing, education, and lifelong learning.
  • Exceptional subject‑matter expertise with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Eager to serve students and colleagues with respect, care, and purpose.
  • Illinois RN license required for teaching all courses (courses prioritized to licensed instructors).
Additional Information

Compensation for this position ranges from $1,120 to $7,245 per assignment, depending on factors such as course type, experience, licensure, geographic location, and responsibility. Actual pay may be adjusted as permitted by law.
