Responsibilities
- Performs a variety of diagnostic ultrasound procedures, which require independent judgment and initiative. The procedures include but are not limited to Abdominal, OB/GYN, Small Parts, Arterial and Venus Vascular exams, Pediatric and Adult Echocardiograms, and Guidance procedures. Maintains ultrasound equipment. Call is required.
- Perform abdominal, OB-GYN, neuro, vascular, breast, and special procedures/exams (i.e. biopsies, amniocentesis, etc.) as required.
- Accurately identify normal or pathological processes and distinguish them from artifacts.
- Document and record information required on images and requisitions. This includes procedural measurement pages.
- Proficiently utilizes the Radnet. Scheduling, Power chart modules of Cerner for patient information entry/review.
- Able to proficiently send image and documentation as needed for off-site review to imaging review service; knows how to troubleshoot transmission problems when they arise.

- Registered by the ARDMS in Vascular preferred; other registries a plus/benefit.
- Must obtain registry from ARDMS or equivalent with Vascular certification within two years of employment and maintain this registry/certification annually.
- Additional registry in cardiac and/or OB/GYN, Abdominal/general preferred.
- BLS required within first 30 days of employment.
- Previous ultrasound experience required
- Typing and basic computer skills required.
