Medical Assistant - Family Care of Enid Clinic - FT - Day Shift
Join St. Mary's Physician Associates in Enid, OK, to provide compassionate patient care as a Medical Assistant.
Responsibilities- Assisting in examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician.
- Interviewing patients.
- Measuring vital signs (pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, height).
- Venipuncture and procedure as directed by the physician within the scope of practice in the State.
- Documenting patient information in the Electronic Medical Record per SMPA guideline.
- Preparing treatment rooms for examination of patients.
- Assisting at the front desk as required.
- Team responsibilities:
Participate in decision‑making and process improvement, communicate effectively, focus on problem resolution, assist with daily clerical operations, accurately file patient charts, schedule patient appointments and return visits. - Clinical responsibilities:
Keep patient rooms, nursing station, and storage rooms stocked and clean, manage product expiration dates, distribute referrals, pre-authorize prescriptions and clinical tests, fax patient prescriptions, schedule diagnostic imaging studies, contact patients with lab results, triage patients, check vitals, administer injections, perform venipunctures, prepare patients for physician exam, perform clinical testing including EKG, PFT, PAP, CLIA‑waived lab tests, ear irrigations, O2 sats, vision/color charts, urinalysis/hemocult tests, label specimens, complete lab slips, complete patient info forms, adhere to SMPA safety and quality guidelines.

Qualifications- Education:
High school diploma or equivalent (required);
Medical Assistant certificate required or must obtain certification within six months of employment;
Current BLS certification required. - Work experience:
Medical Assistant certificate of completion and/or one year experience as a Medical Assistant; familiarity with medical terminology; experience with patient check‑in and check‑out process. - Knowledge:
General medical office procedures; end‑of‑day cash balancing and charge reconciliation process. - Skills:
Proficiency in basic computer programs (Microsoft Office), excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills; bilingual in English and Spanish preferred. - Abilities:
Perform courteously and professionally in all interactions. - Equipment operated:
Fax machine, copier, telephone system, EKG machine, other patient care testing. - Work environment:
Well‑lit OSHA‑standard environment; exposure to infectious diseases; contact with patients; irregular hours; PPE may be required. - Mental/
Physical requirements:
Handle emergency or crisis situations; visual and hearing acuity with corrective devices.
