Electrical Technician – Koch Fertilizer, LLC.
Koch Fertilizer, LLC. is seeking a motivated Electrical Technician for its Enid, OK facility. The role involves performing electrical work in a manufacturing environment, executing daily maintenance activities, and collaborating with the team on routine plant operations.
Schedule & AvailabilityThis position follows a 4/10 schedule:
Monday through Thursday, 7:00 am – 5:30 pm. The technician must be available for on‑call duties, responding within one hour during the rotation schedule. Overtime opportunities exist for site projects and construction.
- Perform preventive maintenance on industrial electrical equipment up to 12.5 kV, including motors, motor controls, variable frequency drives, and electrical distribution.
- Troubleshoot and conduct root‑cause analysis of electrical problems in the plant (up to 12.5 kV).
- Read and interpret technical work orders, blueprints, technical manuals, single‑line diagrams, schematics, ladder logic, P&IDs, and instrument loop drawings.
- Install, examine, replace, or repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, cable assemblies, lighting fixtures, and related components.
- Document activities in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Collaborate with supervisors, managers, and coworkers in a team environment.
- Adhere to all safety regulations, including proper lockout/tag‑out procedures.
- Maintain a clean work area to ensure a safe environment.
- Troubleshoot and maintain other plant equipment as required.
- Support additional maintenance duties as assigned.
- 3+ years of experience testing, troubleshooting, installing, and maintaining industrial electrical equipment.
- Lift up to 50 lbs.
- Push/pull up to 100 lbs.
- Grip strength of 60 lbs static force.
- Ability to forward bend, kneel, squat, and stand for extended periods.
- Climb ladders and stairs.
- Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- Be medically cleared for respiratory protection and HAZWOPER programs.
- Technical or trade school degree with emphasis in electricity.
- Experience interpreting electrical drawings, schematics, and single‑line diagrams.
- Experience in an ammonia manufacturing, chemical plant, refinery, or similar industrial site.
- Experience with variable frequency drives, protection relays, and high‑resistance ground systems.
- Working knowledge of NEC and NFPA 70E.
- Oklahoma Electrical Journeyman license.
