Position SummaryAfter evaluation of competency, the Nurse Tech is allowed to perform all duties of a nursing assistant as well as other technical skills which have been learned in a nursing education program and for which competency has been previously demonstrated under the supervision of a faculty member.
Job Duties / Responsibilities- Demonstrates competence in assembling and operating equipment for patient care under the supervision of an RN.
- Keeps appropriate people aware of pertinent changes or problems in patient condition.
- Participates in planned education for the patient per Patient/Family Education policy with consideration of developmental differences.
- Reports variances according to risk management processes of UHS.
- Required current enrollment in and successful completion of the first semester of an accredited Nursing Program or current Oklahoma CNA licensure in Long Term Care and current enrollment in an accredited Nursing Program.
- To remain at the status of a Nurse Tech, the employee must successfully pass and complete each semester including clinical and theory classes they are enrolled in.
- BLS required.
- Must successfully complete the pre-employment assessment.
- Must demonstrate each task before performing independently. Basic computer skills required.
