A night in the life on our manufacturing floor
When your shift begins at 6:00 PM, you take ownership of uptime. You walk the line, read PLC diagnostics, scan VFD parameters, and listen for the subtle clues that a servo or conveyor needs attention. You keep preventive maintenance on schedule, react quickly when a drive or motor trips, and coordinate with Electrical Engineering whenever deeper support is needed. Your goal is simple: safe, reliable equipment that sustains peak production.
Schedule and compensation
- Rotating Night Shift: 6:00PM – 6:30AM (2-2-3 rotating schedule)
- Compensation:
Tech II at $27.40–$35.25 per hour plus overtime;
Tech I at $23.85–$30.70 per hour - Flexibility: 40+ hours per week, weekends as needed, with on‑call support for repairs and assistance
- Own preventive and reactive maintenance for plant manufacturing assets to sustain maximum production rates.
- Manage and execute PM schedules and document all activity in the CMMS, closing PM and Repair Work Orders on time and in compliance.
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment and controls, including AC/DC motors and drives, chillers, downstream systems, conveyors, and related components.
- Serve as first responder to machine issues; loop in Electrical Engineering when escalations are required.
- Specify, source, and order replacement parts and control components from suppliers; help maintain an adequate spare parts inventory.
- Partner closely with Production to ensure safe, consistent operation of all plant equipment.
- Support Daily Management directives and contribute to Continuous Improvement projects that boost efficiency and Safety.
- Continue building capabilities through company training programs.
- Use of electrical test gear: voltmeter, ammeter, ohm meter, megger, and similar tools.
- Understanding of basic machine functions and the Sequence of Operations for production machinery.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical drawings.
- Working knowledge of NEC, UL508A, and NFPA 79.
- Strict adherence to Lockout/Tagout, Arc Flash boundaries, and PPE requirements.
- Proficiency with electrical formulas and mechanical math.
- Three-phase industrial wiring and power distribution.
- Experience with AC, DC, and servo drives/motors; motion setup and tuning for servo systems.
- PLC I/O and networking troubleshooting.
- Comfort with Microsoft Excel and Word for logs, reports, and parts tracking.
