TAMKO is seeking a Shift Technical Operator for its facility in Ennis, Texas.
OverviewThe Shift Technical Operator position requires a high level of flexibility, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to operate all equipment and positions on the line, including line operator duties. This role provides additional manpower across all areas and assists maintenance personnel on assigned projects. The candidate must troubleshoot process problems, conduct process checks, and assist with maintenance troubleshooting. Housekeeping and safety are also essential parts of the job.
The position will assign employees to any shift as needed.
- Have a desire to excel and be the best in terms of safety, quality, equipment operations, maintenance, and teamwork.
- Work safely under established company methods, policies, and procedures.
- Work rotating shifts, up to 16 hours at a time.
- Maintain a clean work area.
- Understand how processes work from one stage to another.
- Operate all plant machinery including fiber feed system, rewinder, winder, material handling system, wrapper, lab systems and associated machine process systems.
- Supervise machine operation of other crew members and occasionally supervise crew in the absence of the supervisor.
- Identify defects and troubleshoot to solve problems.
- Read, calculate, and record test results using simple math.
- Maintain established production rates.
- Develop production, mechanical skills, and troubleshooting techniques on an ongoing basis to support shift and plant operations.
- Consistently arrive at work and on time; ensures work responsibilities are covered when absent; arrive at meetings and appointments on time.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Mechanical, electrical, or programming experience or training preferred.
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions, policies, and procedures.
- Good working knowledge of computer software and HMI systems.
- Team player who can maintain good rapport with others for plant success.
- Operation, maintenance, and testing of various heavy machinery.
- Visual acuity requirements for operating equipment; color, depth perception, and field of vision.
- Heavy work: exert force to move up to 500 lb occasionally, 50 lbs frequently, 10 lbs consistently.
- Exposure to indoor and outdoor conditions, heights up to 60 feet, dust, fumes, chemicals, hot environments, electrical equipment, and loud environment.
- Must follow safety rules and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
