Overview

Retail Assistant Store Manager to join our Team. The position offers hourly pay with commission opportunities and a bonus based on store performance. Pay range: $11.00 to $14.00 per hour. Retail sales associates can earn up to 8% commission on transactions, which could average an additional $1.39 per hour on top of the hourly rate.

Position Summary

We are seeking an Assistant Store Manager with a minimum of six months of management/3rd key experience. The Assistant Store Manager is accountable for day-to-day store operations and promoting a positive, productive environment. This role partners with the Store Manager to lead and develop store employees, recruit and retain top talent, maximize financial goals, and manage Customer Relations / Customer Satisfaction.

The position sets the tone for a customer-centric environment.

Alongside the Store Manager, this position analyzes store financial statements to ensure financial goals are met. The role supports asset protection, promotes the business, and targets new customer acquisitions. Employees work with jewelry and general merchandise, including tools, electronics, firearms (in FFL locations), and more.

This position offers an hourly wage plus commission based on productivity and a bonus based on store performance. Actual pay depends on location, qualifications, and experience.

Responsibilities of an Assistant Store Manager
  • Facilitate a customer-centric environment by engaging customers professionally and addressing issues promptly.
  • Monitor and assist in training Pawnbrokers to meet First Cash standards.
  • Recruit top talent through company-prescribed channels.
  • Open and close the store, including cash drawer and merchandise handling, following procedures to protect assets.
  • Ensure asset protection through inventory control and safety procedures.
  • Administer store processes including inventory, loan management, merchandising, store presentation, systems, and reporting.
  • Evaluate financial statements and drive profitability through communication and goal setting.
  • Maintain operating standards to meet or exceed First Cash standards.
  • Monitor loan qualification and buying processes to ensure value and integrity of loans issued.
  • Complete assigned tasks and self-development training as requested.
  • Communicate clearly with employees to align with the store’s mission and profit objectives.
  • Remain up-to-date on product knowledge.
  • Act as manager on duty in the absence of the Store Manager.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements & Qualifications
  • Willing and able to perform duties for extended periods (standing, stooping, walking, climbing, pushing, pulling, lifting).
  • Able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively supervise others.
  • Ability to work with firearms and become firearms certified.
  • May be asked to assist customers outside the building or retrieve products from exterior storage.
  • Minimum Age: 18 years old.
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to work in multiple locations as needed.
  • Flexible retail schedule including weekends and holidays.
  • 40+ hours per week; hours vary by business needs.
  • Computer literate; able to operate POS systems and office machines.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment; detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Analytical skills; cash handling experience required.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision; strong work ethic and business sense.

Commission Plan Information

The employee commission incentive plan is proprietary to First Cash. Assistant Store Managers have the potential to earn 2-8% commission based on personal gross profit. Additional details are provided during the interview process.
