Position Description

Immediate opening for a SOLO Class A CDL Truck Driver at Ryder in Ennis, TX. We will buy your truck and help you transition from Owner Operator to Company Driver. For more information, text “Ennis” to 662‑863‑7929 or call Susan.

• Base Pay: $1600+ per week
• Miles Pay: $0.617 per mile with 1,880 miles per week
• Stop Pay: $26.72 per stop with 15 stops per week
• Per Diem: $51.00 per night on 1–2 nights per week
• Overnights: at Ryder‑booked hotels
• Paid training
• Schedule:
  
  Sunday‑Friday or Monday‑Saturday (varies)

• Trucks three years or newer;
  Ryder drivers service the route, not the truck
• Service: 24/7 roadside maintenance by Ryder‑trained technicians; fuel at 800+ maintenance facilities
• Routes: SOLO‑to LA, TX, OK, NM, AR, TN, MS
• Trailer types: 53', 48', and 28' reefer
• 6-month Class A Touch Freight experience required
• Ryder will train on all needed equipment
• Equipment: manual pallet jack, lift gate, rolling carts, dollies

• Minimum 21 years of age
• Pass a Ryder drug test
• Pass a Ryder background and motor‑vehicle check (including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years)
• Pass a DOT physical
• Pass a Ryder road test
• Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
• Class A verifiable experience in a tractor‑trailer or comparable vehicle:
  • 9 months experience within the past 3 years, OR
  • 2 years’ experience within the last 5 years, OR
  • 5 years’ experience within the last 10 years
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
• Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies and/or procedures

• Ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and agency rules, standards, and guidelines
• Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards; maintain accurate records and logs
• Load/unload freight or assist in loading/unloading if required by customer
• Perform other duties as assigned
