Are you a senior researcher specializing in control and manipulation for robotics, with a passion for teamwork and mentoring junior engineers? Responsibilities
Shape multiple projects in control and manipulation as a technical lead in the Unmanned Robotic Systems and Smart Industrial Systems research lines, designing and implementing motion control, path‑planning methods, and gripper and interaction controllers.
Initiate new projects, broaden networks, and enhance our impact in education and society.
Launch initiatives to strengthen the quality and effectiveness of our team’s working methods, contribute to education by giving lectures in your field of expertise, and coach students and colleagues in projects.
Working at Saxion
You will be a member of the Smart Mechatronics And Robo Tics (SMART) Research Group, part of the School of Life Science, Engineering and Design (LED). This environment focuses on applied technologies and recent national and international developments.
Employment Terms and Conditions
The following salary scale: scale 12: min €5,761 / max €7,534 (cao‑hbo) on a full‑time basis.
8% holiday allowance and 8.3% year‑end bonus.
Temporary contract with the possibility of extension.
Generous leave policy: full‑time employees may take 428 hours of leave annually, which equals 53.5 holiday leave days, including statutory holiday days and public holidays.

Job Requirements
Master of Science or PhD in a relevant technical discipline such as systems & control, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or mechatronics.
At least 5 years of experience in (applied) research projects or industry engineering projects in control & manipulation for robotics, including implementation on physical systems.
Ability to motivate and coach a team to translate state‑of‑the‑art knowledge into working solutions and new research outputs.
Demonstrable experience in building and maintaining professional networks, initiating acquisition, and aligning research road maps across projects.
A critical eye for the overall quality of results and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Second (optional) interview scheduled for Monday 28–09–2026, 14:30–16:00.
