Senior Researcher – Control & Manipulation for Robotics
Position within the School of Life Science, Engineering and Design (LED) at Saxion, Enschede. Full‑time (0.8–1 FTE). Salary scale 12: €5,761–€7,534 per month (cao‑hbo). Final date to receive applications: 7 September 2026.
Responsibilities
Lead and shape projects in control and manipulation for robotics across the Unmanned Robotic Systems and Smart Industrial Systems research lines.
Design and implement motion control, path‑planning methods, and grippers/controllers for robotic systems.
Initiate new projects and expand networks to enhance impact in education and society.
Launch initiatives to improve team working methods and contribute to education through lectures and coaching of students and colleagues.
Qualifications
Master of Science or PhD in a relevant technical discipline (e.g., systems & control, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or mechatronics).
At least 5 years of experience in applied research or engineering projects in control and manipulation for robotics, including implementation on physical systems.
Demonstrable ability to motivate and coach a team to translate state‑of‑the‑art knowledge into working solutions and new research insights.
Experience building and maintaining professional networks, initiating acquisition, and aligning research roadmaps across projects.
Critical eye for quality and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Salary scale 12: €5,761–€7,534/month (cao‑hbo) on a full‑time basis.
8 % holiday allowance and 8.3 % year‑end bonus.
Temporary contract with possibility of extension.
