Head Pastor
Location:
Goodman Baptist Church
- Provide spiritual leadership through preaching, teaching, and sound doctrinal guidance rooted in extensive biblical knowledge.
- Conduct in-depth scriptural study and research to effectively address questions from the congregation.
- Lead weekly worship services and coordinate with the choir leader to ensure meaningful, well-structured services.
- Oversee and execute Pastoral Care ministries, including hospital and home visitation, counseling for individuals, couples, and families, funeral services and support for grieving families, wedding ceremonies and premarital counseling.
- Support and supervise existing ministry staff, including the part‑time youth minister and volunteer church secretary.
- Provide administrative leadership to ensure smooth church operations, including planning, organizing, and managing church programs, calendars, and initiatives.
- Work collaboratively with deacons, committees, and ministry teams to establish and execute church goals, policies, and outreach strategies.
- Manage or oversee administrative tasks such as communication, budgeting input, and general coordination of church functions.
- Engage actively in outreach efforts within the local community to build relationships and encourage church growth.
- Represent the church with professionalism and compassion in all community interactions.
- Extensive knowledge of biblical text, theology, and Baptist doctrine.
- Demonstrated ability to research scripture effectively and communicate clear, Bible‑based answers.
- Prior experience in pastoral leadership, including preaching, teaching, and shepherding a congregation.
- Experience in pastoral care, including visitation, counseling, funerals, and weddings.
- Proven administrative and organizational skills within a church or ministry context.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with diverse individuals and families.
- A heart for outreach and community involvement.
- Ability to collaborate with and support existing church staff and volunteers.
