General Purpose

The Area Supervisor is a member of the Store Leadership who is responsible for a specific, assigned area of the store as well as the general operations and supervision of the store when functioning as Manager on Duty. As Area Supervisor you will open and close the store, supervise associates, maintain a friendly, easy‑to‑shop environment, ensure proper merchandise presentation, and maintain a clean work area at all times.

You will also execute and supervise company operational processes as needed.

Essential Functions Maintaining Safe & Secure Environments
  • Understand that safety is the number one priority and practice safe behaviors in everything you do.
  • Maintain a high level of awareness on the sales floor to create a safe and secure shopping environment for everyone. Immediately correct or report any unsafe conditions or practices to Store Leadership.
  • Responsible for security of the building, including entrance/exit control, Electronic Article Surveillance devices, Cash Office security, armored carrier pick‑ups, and register area.
  • Remove clutter and ensure safe, clear egress to emergency exits.
  • Responsible for customer safety, including accident prevention, accident reporting and emergency procedures.
  • Test all fire alarm systems as scheduled and respond to after‑hours alarms when requested.
Customer Service
  • Treat all customers, associates, and other leaders with respect.
  • Demonstrate courtesy, friendliness, and professionalism at all times. Recognize associates using company recognition programs.
Personal and Store Brand
  • Represent and support the company brand at all times.
  • Maintain a professional appearance in accordance with the company dress code. Ensure all associates adhere to the dress code.
  • Keep all areas of the store clean, well‑maintained, and merchandised to standard.
  • Responsible for daily trash removal.
General Merchandising
  • Ensure recovery, sizing, and markdowns are completed to company standards through teaching, assigning tasks, and following up in accordance with company best practice.
  • Responsible for receiving the merchandise truck when needed.
  • Process all merchandise with a sense of urgency.
  • Responsible for receipt of all non‑merchandise inbound deliveries (signs, supplies, special deliveries, etc.).
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of all stockrooms.
  • Help deliver and place merchandise on the sales floor when all merchandise is processed.
  • Ensure any back‑stock is secured and processed according to company policy.
  • Merchandise the department, including the back‑stock.
  • Reduce loss due to damage.
  • Ensure compliance with the monthly presentation guidelines in the assigned area.
  • Responsible for floor moves and signing, including promotional signing as needed.
  • Responsible for re‑wraps as needed.
Loss Prevention
  • Understands and complies with the Loss Prevention Awareness Program and is responsible for store loss prevention, which includes maintaining a large customer‑service presence on the sales floor,…
