Client Relationship Manager
As part of Matrix Pro Sims’ Defence Sales and Client Relations team, you’ll serve as the first point of contact for our existing clients across the air, sea, land, cyber and space domains. Drawing on your operational, leadership, and training background, you will ensure our customers continue to receive the high standard of service, professionalism, and understanding they expect from Matrix Pro.
You would ideally be located in America or Asia Pacific to handle customers from those time zones.
You will actively manage communications with our client base, guiding them through our established pathways for support, training, accounts, or other requirements within the company. This includes ensuring timely and proactive engagement throughout their licence lifecycle, not just at renewal but from handover, building trust and confidence through consistent follow‑up and domain‑relevant conversation.
Responsibilities- Serve as the first point of contact for existing Matrix Pro Sims clients.
- Actively manage communications with clients, helping them use our routine pathways for support, training, accounts, or other needs within the company.
- Encourage licence renewal through your work, engaging with clients early in their licensing period to build a relationship rather than only in the months prior to renewal.
- Maintain client status and information in company systems, including their use‑case, experience/feedback on products, and intention to renew.
- Represent Matrix Pro Sims at trade shows, exhibitions, and demonstration events in Europe (e.g. IT2EC, DSET, DSEI) and North America (e.g. I/ITSEC), and increasingly Asia and the Middle East. Travel – approx. 12 trips per year.
- Support internal system and process development through project management.
- Strong communicator with an approachable yet confident manner, able to build and sustain trusted relationships with defence clients.
- Highly organised and methodical, maintaining structured client records, renewal tracking, and proactive follow‑up.
- Confident presenter, capable of delivering clear, professional briefings to both technical and senior military stakeholders.
- Adaptable and proactive, comfortable managing multiple priorities and representing the company at events or on‑site visits in the UK and overseas.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret client feedback and identify opportunities for improved support or engagement.
- 5+ Years of relevant experience, but 10+ years preferred.
- Demonstrated experience managing client relationships within defence or similarly structured organisations, ensuring consistent communication and satisfaction throughout the licence lifecycle.
- Operational background that enables credible discussion of simulation‑based training, wargaming applications, and analytical use‑cases.
- Skilled in structured reporting, client feedback collection, and translating insights into actionable improvements for internal teams.
- Proven ability to operate with professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail when handling sensitive or classified information.
- Familiarity with modern CRM systems or structured data processes to support client engagement and renewal management.
- Defence Modelling and Simulation (M&S) or wargaming for training, education or analysis.
- Ex‑Military, or government agency an advantage.
- US based is an advantage due to the number of clients based there.
- Experience of Slitherine’s strategy & wargames.
- Flexible Working Arrangements:
Work from our offices in Epsom, UK;
Warsaw, Poland;
Milan, Italy; or work fully remote in Europe or North America. - Access to our library of over 300 commercial games.
- Military Reserve Support:
We support National defence reserve obligations as applicable.
£50k‑£70k based on experience and location.
