EMH Specialist – Epsom

Location: Epsom, Surrey

Salary: £85 – £98 per day (depending on experience)

Job Type: Full-time | Long-term | Immediate Start Available

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEMH Specialist to support children and young people with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs within a supportive educational setting in Epsom. This is a rewarding opportunity for individuals passionate about helping students overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential. SEMH settings commonly support pupils with additional needs such as Autism, ADHD, trauma‑related challenges, and behavioural difficulties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide 1:1 and small‑group support for pupils with SEMH needs.
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with students.
  • Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, therapists, and parents.
  • Implement personalised learning and behaviour support plans.
  • Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Monitor and report on student progress and well‑being.
Requirements
  • Previous experience working with children or young people with SEMH, SEND, Autism, ADHD, or behavioural needs.
  • Strong communication and relationship‑building skills.
  • A patient, resilient, and empathetic approach.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.
  • Relevant qualifications in Education, Psychology, Youth Work, Health & Social Care, or similar are desirable.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
