We are seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join our inclusive team in Epsom. The successful candidate will provide high-quality, personalised support to pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), working closely with class teachers to promote academic progress, independence and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities- Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering differentiated lessons for pupils with SEND.
- Provide one-to-one or small-group support, implementing individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour strategies.
- Facilitate the use of assistive technology and adaptive resources.
- Monitor and record pupil progress, communicating observations to teachers and parents.
- Foster a safe, respectful and stimulating classroom environment.
- Contribute to team meetings, safeguarding duties and professional development activities.
- Level 2 (or higher) Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in a Secondary School setting, or equivalent.
- Experience working with children who have SEND, preferably in a mainstream secondary school.
- Strong communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to safeguarding policies.
- First Aid and DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain).
