About the RolePatrick Ryan Associates are seeking a Structural Façade Engineer at either Senior or Associate level to join our growing façade engineering team. This is an opportunity for an experienced structural engineer with a strong façade background to take ownership of projects from concept through to delivery, while playing a key role in developing our structural engineering capability.
You will combine technical excellence with commercial awareness, client confidence, and leadership, representing the business in meetings, on site, and across multidisciplinary teams.
What You’ll Be Doing- Producing structural engineering analysis and calculations for façade systems
- Reviewing façade structural calculations prepared by other parties
- Leading and project managing façade structural engineering projects from inception to completion
- Creating calculation programs, spreadsheets, and standardised calculation templates (TEDDS)
- Reviewing and commenting on façade drawings and technical documentation
- Attending and chairing meetings with clients, architects, contractors, and design teams
- Undertaking site visits to assess installation quality and resolve technical challenges
- Collaborating with internal teams to ensure structural design is fully integrated within the overall façade design
- Supporting business development activities and contributing to proposal preparation
You are a confident and capable structural engineer who:
- Works well both independently and as part of a team
- Manages priorities effectively and drives projects forward with minimal supervision
- Demonstrates initiative, flexibility, and a proactive problem-solving mindset
- Is comfortable representing the business in client-facing environments
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Master’s in Structural Engineering advantageous)
- Member of the Institution of Structural Engineers (IStruct
E), or close to achieving membership - Thorough knowledge of façade materials, products, manufacturing processes, and construction methods
