Your role

You will be based in Birmingham, Glasgow or Epsom as part of our Electrical Engineering team. Building strong, trusted relationships is key; you’ll work with others, sometimes directly at client sites, sometimes from our offices.

  • Lead and deliver complex power system studies including load flow, short‑circuit, stability, protection coordination, and harmonic analysis.
  • Liaise directly with clients to understand project requirements, provide technical guidance, and build long‑term relationships.
  • Coordinate with offshore engineering teams to ensure high‑quality and timely delivery of study outputs.
  • Prepare and review technical proposals, contributing to winning new work and expanding our client base.
  • Lead business development activities by identifying opportunities, shaping solutions, and presenting capabilities to potential clients.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant standards and client specifications across all study work.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to internal capability development within the power systems team.
About You
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline;
    Chartered Engineer status is desirable.
  • Extensive experience in power system studies across transmission, distribution, and industrial networks.
  • Experience with one of the transmission owners (National Grid, Scottish and Southern Energy Networks, Scottish Power) is strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of industry standards (e.g., BS, IEC, IEEE) and transmission owner requirements.
  • Proficiency in power system analysis tools such as DIgSILENT Power Factory, ETAP, PSCAD, or similar.
  • Proven track record of client engagement and successful proposal development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead discussions and influence stakeholders.
  • Experience working with or managing offshore teams is a plus.
  • Innovation, analytical, proactive, solution‑oriented mindset with a focus on quality and delivery.
