Our hydro geologists work at the forefront of managing the challenges of providing resilient and environmentally sustainable water supplies for the future while ensuring water habitats are protected from new infrastructure development. We are undertaking an increasing number and range of important and exciting projects that involve groundwater resource evaluation, development and management and environmental impact investigation for water companies, other major water users and regulators.

Your role
  • Help to deliver our portfolio of groundwater projects, working with our hydrogeologist technical leads and other technical disciplines
  • Undertake work assigned to you to a high standard, self-checking to ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Undertake complex problem solving that may include data gathering and processing, calculations and modelling, conceptualisation and report writing.
  • Work closely with the rest of the groundwater resources team. Collaborative and supportive teamwork is vital to our success
  • Work collaboratively with other technical disciplines in the Water Management Consultancy team and beyond, delivering a range of projects relating to water supply, strategic planning, resource optimisation and environmental assessment.
About you
  • A degree in science, engineering or mathematics and a post‑graduate qualification in hydrogeology or a related subject
  • Demonstrable experience as a hydrogeologist within consultancy, water company, regulator or academic fields
  • Experience which may include water resources hydrogeology and hydrology, signal and pumping tests, borehole design, groundwater flooding or water resource planning
  • An understanding of UK hydrogeology and of the regulatory framework of UK water management
  • A commitment to work towards chartership through a relevant professional body
  • Excellent numerical, analytical, report‑writing and presentational skills and an eye for detail
  • Enthusiasm and motivation to solve challenging water resources problems within a high achieving team environment
