Junior​/Assistant Geotechnical Engineer or Engineering Geologist

Job Description Overview

We are a leading geotechnical consultancy, offering a range of projects across infrastructure, energy, and defence sectors in the UK and internationally.

The successful applicant will be a Junior/Assistant Geotechnical Engineer or Engineering Geologist with a degree in civil engineering or geology/geoscience and a post‑graduate qualification in a geotechnical subject. The position involves working in teams, contributing to diverse strategic projects in infrastructure and energy, and advancing towards chartered status.

• Participate in ground investigation techniques and supervise site inspections.
• Support geotechnical design of structures, foundations, and earthworks.
• Use numerical software such as Geostudio, Repute, Wallap, etc.
• Prepare and review reports, ensuring accuracy and self‑check.
• Collaborate with clients and multidisciplinary engineers.
• Travel on short assignments within the UK and overseas as required.

• Degree in civil engineering or geology/geoscience.
• Post‑graduate qualification in a geotechnical subject.
• Relevant site experience with ground investigation supervision.
• Experience with geotechnical design and numerical software.
• Working towards Chartered Engineering status.
• Excellent communication, report writing, and client liaison skills.
• Valid UK driving licence.
• Willingness to work in a fast‑moving consultancy environment.
