Are you an experienced Dams & Reservoirs Engineer looking for your next major opportunity?
We are currently seeking a Senior Dams & Reservoirs Engineer / Principal Reservoir Engineer to support the delivery of complex and innovative projects across the UK water and infrastructure sector.
You’ll become part of a talented team, working on significant projects for major water companies and infrastructure clients, including Thames Water, Anglian Water, Southeast Water, Southern Water, Scottish Water and Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water.
The RoleYou will play a key technical role in delivering complex reservoir, dam and hydraulic structures projects
, working within multi-disciplinary teams from design through to construction support.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading and coordinating engineering teams delivering technical design work
- Producing and reviewing design reports, drawings, calculations and scopes of work
- Providing technical expertise across reservoir and hydraulic structures projects
- Managing technical delivery against project programmes, budgets and milestones
- Working closely with clients, project managers and multi-disciplinary teams
- Mentoring and developing junior engineers
- Providing technical input into bids and proposals
- Supporting integrated design solutions across UK and international projects
- Ensuring high standards of design quality, checking and technical assurance
We’re looking for an experienced professional with:
- A degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
- Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status
- Strong experience in the design of dams, reservoirs and hydraulic structures
- Proven experience leading or coordinating engineering design teams within consultancy
- Practical knowledge of earth and concrete dams, weirs and associated hydraulic structures
- Understanding of access, accessibility and construction logistics
- Strong knowledge of relevant design codes, standards, industry best practice and CDM Regulations
- Previous experience within the Water sector – essential
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- The ability to work independently and provide technical leadership
