Orthopaedic Clinical Leader
Location:
Tunbridge Wells Hospital – Full Time.
Salary:
Up to £52,500.00 per annum, dependent on experience. 37.5 hours per week.
We are looking for an Orthopaedic Clinical Leader to help us build a healthier nation. You must be registered with the appropriate governing body and have the relevant qualifications and post‑registration experience in surgery/anaesthetics, including as a Registered Nurse or HCPC Registered Operating Department Practitioner. Candidates should demonstrate strong clinical leadership, good communication and organisational skills, and the ability to work as part of a team.
Knowledge of running a smooth and effective department and equipment is essential.
- Ensure the efficient running of the orthopaedic team, support and deputise for the Clinical Head of Department as required.
- Maintain excellent interpersonal and communication skills with all members of the MDT, Consultants and Patients.
- Display enthusiasm and a strong “can do” attitude that reflects a desire to succeed.
- Coordinate activity and be responsible for patient care and safety.
- Be instrumental to the patient experience, ensuring seamless, personalised care.
- Apply your knowledge and skills in assessment, care planning and delivery.
- Champion a supportive, enabling working culture on the ward, promoting staff safety and education.
- Have SFA or SCP experience.
- Conduct and organise the Orthopaedic Clinical and wider team within theatre, ensuring smooth running of theatre lists, organising booking forms and assisting sessions.
- Work collaboratively and flexibly across theatre suites to accommodate the service demands of each department (Endoscopy, General, Orthopaedics, Gynae, ENT, Recovery and Anaesthetics).
- Promote effective clinical risk management and governance within the department, including safety and risk management, quality improvement and adherence to policies and procedures to enhance patient care and service delivery.
- Have extensive knowledge for dealing with audits and equipment.
- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of surgical techniques and associated equipment.
