Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Arborist role based in Epsom, with work carried out across London and the south east of England. The Arborist will perform day-to-day tree surgery tasks such as pruning, crown reduction, felling, and removal, as well as assisting with planting, stump grinding, and site clearances. Responsibilities include assessing tree condition, identifying species, supporting arboricultural reports, and following safe working practices and industry standards.
The role also involves operating and maintaining chainsaws, chippers, and other equipment, managing ropes and rigging, and ensuring work sites are left clean and safe. The Arborist will collaborate with team members, communicate professionally with clients, and follow company procedures and health and safety guidelines.
Qualifications
- Strong arboricultural knowledge, including Arboriculture and Certified Arborist credentials or equivalent experience.
- Practical experience with Trees and Tree Identification in urban and suburban environments.
- Background in Forestry or related land-based disciplines, with understanding of tree health and structure.
- Relevant tickets such as chainsaw operation (e.g., CS30/31 or equivalent), use of wood chippers, and climbing/rescue qualifications are highly beneficial.
- Solid understanding of health and safety regulations, safe work at height practices, and risk assessment on active work sites.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, perform physically demanding tasks, and handle equipment safely.
- Effective teamwork and communication skills, with a professional approach to client interactions.
- Valid UK driving license is highly desirable; prior experience in tree surgery or arboricultural contracting is an advantage.
