B and B Attorneys is seeking an experienced Collections Negotiator to join our team. We are looking for someone who is confident on the phone, skilled at negotiation, and experienced in working directly with consumers to resolve outstanding financial obligations.

This position focuses on accounts involving consumer finance debt, including money borrowed through finance companies. The ideal candidate understands how to communicate professionally with debtors, identify realistic payment options, overcome objections, and negotiate resolutions that move accounts toward payment.

• Communicate with consumers by telephone regarding outstanding accounts
• Negotiate payment arrangements, settlements, and account resolutions
• Ask effective questions to understand a consumer’s financial circumstances and ability to pay
• Handle objections and difficult conversations professionally and confidently
• Work toward mutually workable resolutions while meeting client and company expectations
• Maintain accurate and detailed notes regarding all conversations, negotiations, promises to pay, and account activity
• Follow up consistently on payment arrangements and unresolved accounts
• Manage a portfolio of accounts and prioritize collection activity
• Maintain professionalism and comply with all applicable debt-collection laws, regulations, client requirements, and company policies

• Previous collections, consumer finance, debt recovery, or account negotiation experience strongly preferred
• Strong negotiation and telephone communication skills
• Comfortable spending a significant portion of the workday speaking with consumers by phone
• Ability to remain calm, professional, and persistent during challenging conversations
• Strong listening skills and the ability to determine when and how to adjust a negotiation approach
• Goal-oriented and motivated by results
• Strong organizational and follow-up skills
• Ability to document accounts accurately and work efficiently in a high-volume environment

We are looking for more than someone who simply makes collection calls. We want a strong negotiator who can build rapport, listen, think on their feet, and confidently guide a conversation toward resolution.

Experience collecting accounts for consumer finance companies, personal loans, installment loans, or similar financial products would be especially valuable.
