Credentialing Specialist – 32 Hours at St. Elizabeth Physicians
Job SummaryReports to the Credentialing Manager. The Credentialing Specialist verifies and maintains healthcare providers' qualifications (licenses, education, certifications, work history) to ensure compliance with regulations, payer requirements, and organizational standards. Manages the end‑to‑end process from initial application to ongoing re‑credentialing for accurate documentation, timely onboarding, and proper reimbursement.

Duties and Responsibilities- Comply with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Complete new provider and re‑credentialing applications accurately and on time.
- Track and enter provider data into the system; maintain electronic files that Photo basics DB. keep current and accurate.
- Maintain provider credential files, provider numbers and signed contracts; complete paper files as required.
- Provide accurate and timely information to contract carriers.
- Maintain network and billing systems files for provider status.
- Communicate effectively with sites and Coordinated Benefit Offices (CBO) to resolve credentialing issues.
- Submit Medical License and DEA invoices; maintain an up‑to‑date log of renewals.
- Answer telephones within three rings and act friendly and helpful.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum:
High School Diploma
None required
Required Skills and KnowledgeAbility to manage and prioritize multiple tasks; knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint; strong organizational and communication skills; professional interaction with physicians, hospital administration, and the public.
Other Required Skills and Knowledge- Understanding of insurance credentialing application procedures.
- Strong organizational skills and strict confidentiality per corporate policies.
- Excellent communication and team‑based decision‑making skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet on‑time performance.
- Planning and coordinating multidisciplinary communications strategies.
- Responsive to customer requests and precise attention to detail.
- Initiative in daily duties and cooperation with other departments.
