Operator​/Metal Fabricator

Overview

GE Vernova - Erlanger Service Center manufactures and repairs assemblies for steam power plants. This onsite position is located in Erlanger, KY. Typical schedule is Monday to Friday, with weekend work/OT as optional. Shift: 6:45 AM to 3:15 PM.

The role is for an operator/metal fabricator who will use various machines and perform layout operations to fashion components for these assemblies.

• Set up and operate fabricating machines such as press brake, drill press, plate rolling machine, and cold saw
• Operate cranes, forklifts, and bevellers
• Read basic blueprints to determine dimensions, tolerances, sequence of operations, and setup requirements
• deburr, grind, and finish with hand tools or power-driven equipment
• Produce high-quality work and achieve tight tolerances to fixtures and engineered drawings
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment following all safety standards
• Perform preventative maintenance tasks as required

• High School Diploma / GED
• 3+ years of press brake, machining, or welding experience in a heavy industrial manufacturing setting

• Blueprint reading
• Ability to layout holes on a radius
• Working knowledge of metrology instruments (radius gauges, calipers, micrometers, ruler, height gauge)
• Strong math skills

The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $32.00 per hour USD. The specific pay rate offered depends on experience, education, and work location. The company may apply geographic differentials in certain areas (110%, 120%, or 130% of salary).
