About Heartstrings Pet HospiceHeartstrings Pet Hospice is a privately owned, rapidly growing in-home euthanasia and end-of-life care practice founded on Compassion, Dignity, and Respect.
Position OverviewAssociate Veterinarian will provide compassionate in-home euthanasia, hospice, and palliative care, working independently in the field while being supported by leadership and a dedicated team.
Key Responsibilities- Provide in-home euthanasia, hospice, and palliative care in a compassionate, Fear Free-aligned manner.
- Support families through the end-of-life process with empathy, patience, and professionalism.
- Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation.
- Collaborate with medical leadership and support teams.
- Participate in ongoing training, education, and clinical development.
- Compassionate, emotionally intelligent, and client-focused.
- Comfortable working independently in the field.
- Strong communicator during emotionally sensitive situations.
- Seeking meaningful, purpose-driven veterinary work.
- Values autonomy, flexibility, and a supportive team environment.
- Interested in a long-term role with a privately owned practice.
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM, VMD, or BVMS) from an accredited veterinary school.
- Active veterinary license in the state of practice.
- Valid U.S. driver’s license.
- Availability to work some weekends as part of a rotating schedule.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted and up to 100 lbs with assistance.
- Subject to background check and MVR check post-hire.
