The Quality Supervisor is responsible for supervising quality technicians and leading an operations team in regard to quality shift performance. The Quality Supervisor’s role is to maintain product and process quality by effective application of quality tools and procedures. The Quality Supervisor will audit and assess operations and quality personnel in respect to their quality related requirements. They will be critical in assessing the competency of operations and quality personnel for such duties and reinforcing procedures related to quality inspection and operations response to quality driven issues.
They will document nonconforming product and facilitate the disposition of the nonconforming product.
What you’ll do as a Quality Supervisor :
- Facilitates daily quality audits with each department, spending most of the time on the operations floor.
- Facilitate the execution of daily quality priorities, including addressing training issues, execution of operations/quality procedures, and verifying fail safes are being completed.
- Works with other Finishing Supervisors throughout the organization, cooperating to assure the product quality.
- Assures appropriate quality checks and audits are performed by operators to provide product and process quality, and if problem is identified, utilize data, facts, tools, and appropriate support staff to resolve problem.
- Assures a safe and clean working environment for all employees, emphasizing prevention of potential problems and hazardous conditions, supporting Safety Programs, including Leads safety program in area of responsibility through example and positive communication, employee involvement, and recognition. Monitors use of safety equipment. Investigates any accidents involving quality personnel and takes corrective actions.
- Maintains tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe condition.
- Maintains clean and orderly workplace.
- Responsible for Quality technician job training, employee performance, appraisals and feedback, employee discipline, policies and procedures.
- Promotes employee development and understanding of product quality throughout each functional area.
- Develops and implements improvements in the areas of throughput, cycle time, inventory reduction, quality improvements, productivity, operator control of quality, etc.
- Weekly video audit of quality related process on directed lines.
- Shift to shift verbal communication and email report concerning any quality issues or holds.
- Properly disposition any Quality Holds in timely manner.
- Maintains efficient layout of work area and materials through 5-S and Lean manufacturing initiatives.
- Additional responsibilities as required.
We’re looking for a Quality Supervisor with:
- Bachelor’s degree in operations management or engineering; preferred
- Equivalent experience will be considered
- 5 years of relevant work experience
- Manufacturing/printing experience preferred.
- knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
- Knowledge and understanding of Inventory systems.
- SAP knowledge preferred.

Physical requirements and working conditions:
Our manufacturing Plant is comprised of enclosed office and manufacturing space. This position requires:
- Physical exertion required in lifting, bending, pushing and pulling.
- Ability to manipulate objects and use various measurement tools
- Occasional lifting to 35 pounds.
- Frequent prolonged standing up to 8 hours.
- Working in a manufacturing environment while wearing appropriate personal protective equipment, typically ear plugs.
- Corrected 20/20 vision is required along with no less than average color acuity.
