- A Security Officer may perform a multitude of duties as specified by the Post Orders and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). The Security Officer will read and become extremely knowledgeable of Post Orders and SOP and will be able to act quickly and efficiently according to such directives.
- The Flex Officer position provides trained, competent support by working shifts that become open due to illness, call-offs, weather, vacation, or other causes, enabling Sunstates to provide continual, uninterrupted service to customers and protecting the health and work balance of personnel.
- You will be trained at various posts and/or facilities based on operational need. This may involve working at a specific post for several weeks, but is not a permanent assignment.
- Your schedule (shifts, days off, hours per week, etc.) will vary based on operational need.
- You will be assigned to or offered shifts as they become available due to staffing needs.
- Some shifts will be scheduled in advance; some may be called on short notice to cover for others.
- You are expected to work any scheduled shift within your described availability. If you become unavailable, communicate this with your supervisor to avoid scheduling you.
For short-notice call-ins, you are expected to work at least 80% of the shifts for which you are called. Refusing more than 20% of such shifts could impact employment status.
Qualifications- One year of security, military, or law enforcement experience preferred.
- Previous truck gate experience is a plus.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Must regularly stand or walk for extended periods of time and distance.
- Mental ability to analyze a situation, solve problems, and make decisions under pressure within the area of responsibility.
- Ability to read and understand written instructions and communicate information clearly in written form.
- Exceptional report writing skills.
- Willing and able to work holidays, weekends, and in all weather conditions.
High school diploma or equivalent
