Location:

Erlanger ISD - 500 Graves Avenue, Erlanger, KY 41018. Online applications accepted only.

Schedule:

Full time, Monday - Friday, 6:30 am - 3:00 pm or 7:00 am - 3:30 pm.

Pay range: $30.00 per hour to $33.00 per hour. Benefits and sign-on details discussed at interview.

The HVAC Maintenance Technician performs a variety of skilled maintenance duties related to facilities engineering and maintenance. Works under a Supervisor, Foreman, or Master Mechanic on a regular basis.

Within the incumbent’s trade, the technician will work independently to analyze and correct problems and ensure that non-license workers perform work in accordance with correct work practices.

• Updates work statuses and documents tasks completed in the CMMS using a mobile device.
• Help determine manpower, material needs, and deadlines for jobs and projects.
• Clean, lubricate, service, repair, and diagnose HVAC, electrical and mechanical building systems and related equipment.
• Assist in making decisions on repairs and report major problems to the Maintenance Supervisor, Foreman, and Manager as appropriate.
• Constructs, finishes, installs, maintains, and repairs electrical and mechanical systems and related facilities using power and hand tools.
• Review outside vendor projects and create punch lists.
• Analyze and correct complex building system problems related to electro/mechanical equipment.
• Support project management activity as needed.
• Respond to emergency problems in the facility and perform emergency repairs as needed.
• Maintain logs, perform rounds, complete preventive maintenance work orders, tests, and inspections.
• Recommend modifications or improvements to preventive maintenance systems.
• Maintain shops and mechanical areas in a clean and safe manner.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• 5 years’ experience as a Maintenance Technician in an institutional setting in an engineering or maintenance discipline.
• One of the following:
  Journeyman Electrical License, Registered ACR Technician with EPA certification in Refrigerant, or Journeyman Plumber License.
• Experience working with blueprints and schematics.
• Valid driver’s license.
• General understanding of electro-mechanical equipment.
• Rudimentary ability to utilize hand-operated construction equipment.
• Ability to repeatedly lift 50 pounds and kneel/bend/stoop and perform strenuous labor for extended periods.

Some exposure to high heat, noise, dust, dirt, and areas requiring infection control. Must be able to meet deadlines and work all hours, including weekends and nights, as necessary to maintain the facility at the appropriate and safe level.
