Planning Scheduling Delivering Manager – Escanaba, MI
Summary DescriptionSupport PS&D operations in achieving targeted business goals regarding safety, finishing, shipping, and leadership.
Key Responsibilities- Paper machine and rewinder scheduling, converting, and wrapping operation, core room, NCP utilization, warehousing, freight management, freight planning, transit damage prevention and shipping of orders.
- Manage a team of exempt and hourly employees.
- Promote and practice safety accountability.
- Ensure environmental compliance and accountability.
- Support three paper machine lines, one pulp line, and multiple product lines.
- Oversee shipping, converting, and rewinding operations to meet shipping and delivery commitments.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and external reporting requirements.
- Manage the PS&D budget.
- Partner with internal shipping employees, truck carriers, and railroad personnel to minimize transit damage.
- Coach and develop direct reports to build a strong cohesive team.
- Provide support and solutions to continually improve shipping, converting, and rewinding processes.
- Align and communicate within the mill and with external stakeholders.
- Support and promote operations reliability initiatives to meet department budget.
- Lead and advocate change.
- Maximize limited time and resources to produce and ship quality products.
- Have a working knowledge of Billerud Paper and its position in the global marketplace.
- Have a working knowledge of logistics, warehousing, shipping, converting, and production planning.
- Have a working knowledge of internal and external customers.
- 10 years of paper industry experience preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent industrial management experience.
- Successful career with increasing levels of leadership responsibilities.
- Knowledge of order management processes and systems.
- Production planning and inventory control knowledge of Opti Vision, PI, and SAP.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong computer skills.
- High degree of internal and external customer awareness.
- Desire to succeed with strong team orientation.
