Job Summary/Basic Function
The primary responsibility of this grant-funded, temporary position is to provide lab support assistance for the Mechatronics and Robotic Systems program. This person will report to the Dean of Business, Technology and Workforce with daily direction from the Mechatronics Department Faculty.
Minimum Qualifications
- Degree seeking student in Mechatronics and Robotic Systems or related degree.
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Demonstrate skills in effective written and oral communication.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Windows, and Linux as well as computer systems preferred.
- Knowledge of safe use of hand tools and power tools preferred.

Travel requirement
Job Duties
- Assist with maintaining Mechatronics labs (400, 400A, 400C, and 402E), lab equipment, servers, and workstations.
- Actively support student success by assisting Mechatronics faculty with labs and classroom support (open lab, equipment operation, technology assistance, etc.)
- Assist in lab maintenance and equipment recommendations or selection of vendors to fix or return failed components.
- Assist in the organization and maintenance of lab inventory and tools (6S practices)
- Perform special projects assigned by the Mechatronics faculty (building, designing, programming, 3D Printing, etc.) support equipment and fixtures for the lab or classroom.
- Provide information related to career exploration at the direction of the Mechatronics faculty.
- Assist in maintaining positive relationships with employers and advisory board members.
