- Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures by producing, assessing, and evaluating ultrasound images and related data used by physicians to render a medical diagnosis.
- Acquire and evaluate data while exercising discretion and judgment in the performance of clinical examinations of neonatal, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.
- Participate as a team member to ensure appropriate treatment for all co-workers, physicians, and patients.
- Travel among all Palomar Health facilities as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned and follow Palomar Health rules, policies, procedures, applicable laws, and standards.
- Carry out the mission, vision, and quality commitment of Palomar Health.
- Graduate of a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) accredited ultrasound program or a graduate from a Diagnostic Medical Sonography program with current ARDMS certification.
- Associate’s Degree (preferred).
Minimum Education:
Graduate of a CAAHEP accredited program or a Diagnostic Medical Sonography program with current ARDMS certification. - 0–6 months ultrasound experience (minimum). 1–5 years ultrasound experience (preferred).
- American Heart Association recognized BLS – Healthcare Provider (required).
- Association of Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) Abdomen or OB/GYN (required). Preferred license:
Not Applicable. - Knowledge of standard office equipment (calculator, fax, photocopier) and personal computer, with computer software skills (MS Windows, Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, internet, e‑mail).
- Proficient Windows computer skills, including keyboarding and mouse use, within the first two weeks of employment.
- Speak and read English at a level sufficient to satisfactorily perform the essential functions of the position.
