We are a fast paced dermatology office located in Escondido, seeking a Medical Assistant with EXPERIENCE in DERMATOLOGY. They will be responsible for providing support to the doctor in the back office along with providing administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the medical office.

Required experience:

1 year or more experience in medical office environment, Dermatology office front and/or back

Duties and Responsibilities:

Apply medical assisting skills, assist with cosmetic, non-cosmetic procedures and surgeries

Work independently as well as part of a team

Interview patients and document basic medical history

Organize and schedule appointments

Make detailed chart notes, including scribing

Assist physician in skin surgeries and biopsies

Handle and process specimens for lab pickup

Assist during medical examinations

Assist during cosmetic procedures (Lasers, Botox, Filler etc)

Prepare and clean exam rooms and medical instruments

Knowledgeable in phlebotomy

Knowledgeable with medical terminology

Knowledgeable with insurances, referral, prior authorization

Knowledgeable with EMR scheduling systems

Assist with front and back office duties

Maintain a clean and organized environment

Give instructions to patients as directed

Collect and document patient information, while maintaining compliance regulations

Return patient phone calls and answer patient questions as directed

Assist with procedures and administering medications as directed
