Drain Technician

Mauzy Cooling, Heating, Plumbing, and Electrical is seeking a skilled and motivated Drain Technician to join our team in Escondido. This role is essential to delivering top-quality plumbing services to residential customers, focusing on diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining drain systems. As a Drain Technician, you will provide excellent customer service, solve challenging problems, and ensure customer satisfaction by delivering high-quality work.

• Perform drain cleaning, maintenance, and repairs using equipment such as hydro-jetters, drain snakes, and more.
• Diagnose and resolve drain system issues, including clogs, blockages, and sewer line problems.
• Execute sewer camera inspections to assess the condition of underground piping systems.
• Diagnose underground plumbing issues, including sewer line collapses, root intrusions, and structural failures.
• Build accurate estimates for underground work, including excavation, pipe replacement, and trenchless repairs.
• Collaborate with customers and the team to plan and execute projects effectively.
• Communicate effectively with customers to explain findings, recommend solutions, and provide cost estimates.
• Answer customer questions and provide education on preventative maintenance for drain systems.
• Follow company safety protocols and industry best practices.
• Maintain and inspect tools, vehicles, and equipment to ensure proper functionality.
• Report any issues or maintenance needs promptly.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in drain cleaning, plumbing, or a related field.
• Proficiency with hydro-jetting equipment and sewer camera inspections is preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Stand/Sit:
  Must be able to remain in stationary position 50% of the time.
• May be required to bend, climb (stairs/ladders), do repetitive motion, kneel, reach, squat, stand, crawl, walk, and run.
• May be required to drive and sit for long periods of time.
• Must be able to maneuver up to 75 lb. by lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling.
• May be required to work in outdoor weather conditions.
• Must have the ability to maneuver in and out of ditches, dig ditches, and assist with other physical operations associated with installing/repairing/and/or maintaining in-ground septic systems and lines.

The starting rate for this opportunity ranges from $65K-$100K/annually. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, and market demands. Other rewards may include incentive plan opportunities and annual bonus eligibility.
