Job Description
We are recruiting travel and medical Assistance Coordinators to join our International Medical Assistance team based in Esher, UK. In the Assistance Coordinator role, no two days will be the same; whether you are dealing with a road traffic accident in Uganda, a case of food poisoning in Auckland or a heart attack in Beijing, you will be dealing with people in need, impacting their lives.

AboutThe Role
As an Assistance Coordinator, you will provide excellent customer service as part of a fast‑paced, diverse team. You will support and advise our customers who require assistance for medical situations worldwide, ensuring members receive the medically necessary care, guiding them through appropriate processes and, in liaison with a range of professionals, putting care plans in place which may include arranging local treatment, facilitating air ambulances or commercial flights with qualified medical escorts when necessary.
Healix International provides 24/7/365 assistance; the UK team offers service from 7 am to 10 pm, Monday to Sunday, and a New Zealand team covers overnight service. Once fully trained, there is an opportunity for hybrid working.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Someone passionate about providing good customer service, adaptable and empathetic
- A resourceful problem solver who can work under pressure
- Good geographical knowledge
- Additional languages an advantage, but not necessary
- Knowledge and experience in the travel insurance arena an advantage
- Ability to build relationships quickly, responding respectfully and positively to members’ needs
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Teamwork
- Good geographical knowledge
- Early, middle and late shifts, Monday to Sunday, including Bank Holidays
- English language, both verbal and written, to a native standard
- Ability to commute to the Esher office
- Additional foreign languages
- Experience of working within the travel insurance business
