Esher, Surrey £25,000 - £26,000 per annum
Start Date: 2nd September

A brand-new specialist SEMH school opening in Esher is seeking dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistants to join its founding team from September. This is a unique opportunity to help shape a nurturing, therapeutic learning environment from day one and support pupils to achieve more than they ever thought possible.
This new specialist provision has been created for children and young people whose educational journeys have often been disrupted and who require a highly supportive, relationship-led approach to learning. The school will support pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, alongside additional learning needs, within a calm, structured and nurturing environment.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and wider school staff to provide outstanding support for pupils both inside and outside the classroom.
You will:
- Support pupils with SEMH and additional needs to access learning
- Build positive relationships that promote confidence and engagement
- Assist with emotional regulation and behaviour support strategies
- Encourage independence, resilience and social development
- Contribute to a safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environment
- Work collaboratively with teaching, pastoral and therapeutic teams
We would love to hear from candidates who have:
- Experience working with children or young people
- A genuine passion for supporting pupils with additional needs
- Patience, empathy and a calm, positive approach
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- The ability to remain resilient and adaptable in challenging situations
- Experience with in education, care, youth work or support settings (desirable but not essential)
- Salary between £25,000 - £26,000
