Job Description & How to Apply Below

Where every child is precious At Sapphires Nursery School, we believe that every child is unique, deeply valued and full of potential. We are looking for a warm, dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery Educator to join our special nursery community and help every child feel safe, secure, confident and able to flourish. SNS is a family run, Froebel inspired nursery with a Christian foundation.

Our approach is rooted in loving relationships, meaningful experiences, a deep connection with nature and the belief that childhood is precious. Our children's learning extends far beyond the nursery walls. Their days may include adventures in local parks, Nature School, Gardening Club, library trips by bus and visits to our much loved local grocer, charity shops and Hampton Court Palace.

We also welcome the wider world into SNS through special visitors, celebrations and experiences. Your role at SNS As a Nursery Educator, you will help create a safe, warm and inspiring environment where children feel known, understood and encouraged to shine. You will:

  • Build secure and trusting relationships with children, helping them develop confidence, independence and a strong sense of belonging
  • Provide rich, meaningful learning experiences that reflect children's interests, individual needs and natural curiosity
  • Support children to explore, investigate, create and learn through play
  • Take responsibility for a group of key children, ensuring that their care, wellbeing and learning needs are consistently met
  • Place children's safety and welfare at the heart of everything you do
  • Follow SNS safeguarding policies and procedures, remaining alert to concerns and reporting them promptly
  • Develop warm and respectful partnerships with parents and families
  • Observe and celebrate each child's learning, development and individual achievements
  • Work closely and generously with your room team
  • Contribute to parents' evenings, open days, training and team meetings
  • Help children learn to SHINE by sharing, helping, including others and never, ever giving up
Holds a full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification
  • Has a genuine love for working with young children
  • Understands that safeguarding is everyone's responsibility
  • Understands that strong, secure relationships provide the foundation for learning
  • Recognises and values each child as an individual
  • Is kind, dependable and committed to being part of a strong team
  • Brings warmth, energy and a positive, can do attitude
  • Enjoys spending time outdoors and helping children connect with nature
  • Communicates thoughtfully and professionally with children, families and colleagues

Our distinctive approach brings together a strong Christian ethos, Froebelian principles and the Circle of Security. At SNS, we believe children flourish when they feel safe, deeply valued and free to explore, create and discover through play and meaningful relationships. Our Christian values of love, kindness, compassion, forgiveness and respect shape nursery life, while our Froebelian approach recognises childhood as a valuable stage in its own right.

We place great importance on learning through play, strong relationships, creativity, appropriate risk, first‑hand experiences and connection with the natural world. While our Christian ethos is central to who we are, we warmly welcome children and families of all faiths and none, and value the diverse backgrounds, cultures and traditions within our nursery community. Our values also extend beyond our local community through our partnership with Hope Gardens India, a Christian organisation supporting vulnerable children and families.

This partnership helps us encourage children to develop compassion, generosity and an understanding that they can make a positive difference in the lives of others. Outdoor learning is an important part of life at SNS, with regular opportunities for children to explore nature and their local community alongside dedicated Nature and Forest School experiences. Above all, relationships are at the heart of SNS.

We want every child to feel secure, known and valued, and every member of our team to understand the important part they play in helping our children flourish and shine. We are looking for people who share our values, are passionate about the first five years of a child's life and want to be part of a warm, ambitious and nurturing nursery community.

At SNS, we want our staff to feel valued, supported and able to flourish too.
