You will optimise processes to maximise efficiency and compliance. Taking the initiative to resolve process failures and manage asset maintenance and faults: directly or via escalation.
As a senior member of the team, you will also be expected to support and develop other team members.
What you'll be doing as a Senior Technician - Waste Water Treatment
- Take responsibility for three operating sites in line with environmental permits to protect the environment; general maintenance of equipment and site, taking effluent samples to monitor and improve biological performance.
- Undertaking both reactive and planned maintenance, responding to alarms and fault finding to identify issues, fix these or escalate, planned maintenance of plant and equipment daily.
- Record work and asset information to improve business performance, along with identifying possible future risks and recommending changes in the course of your day-to-day work, and to raise these for resolution as required.
- To make sure the health, safety and wellbeing of myself, colleagues, contractors, and visitors is always my top priority by displaying the correct behaviours at all times.
- To deliver an excellent customer experience and positively contribute to overall customer satisfaction.
- Interacting with all of our customers (internal & external) in a timely, professional, efficient, respectful and polite manner.
- Working collaboratively with business units/departments across the business to identify improvement opportunities, providing constructive feedback with evidenced examples, with suggestions for improvement.
Working hours - 36 hours Monday to Friday, with a 6-weekly on-call rota.
Salary - From £35,000 depending on skills and experience + additional payments for the 6-weekly on-call rota.
Van - You will be provided with a company van.
What you should bring to the role
To thrive in this role, the essential criteria you'll need are:
- Team player who can work in many different teams, showing respect for others, providing helpful feedback and supporting the development of others.
- Experience of water compliance, testing and consents.
- Builds and always maintains effective internal and external relationships to a high standard - acts as a role model.
- Ability to influence and drive the right culture and behaviours.
- A positive approach to handling changes, embracing all nature of change including technology, process, behavioural and organisational change.
- IT literate.
- Full UK driving licence
- Experience of delivering against challenging upper quartile business targets and performance commitments.
- Team leadership experience would be great to have.
- Previous experience in the water industry
- Demonstrate excellent customer service both internally and externally.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Competitive salary from £35,000 per annum depending on skills and experience + additional payments for the 6-weekly on-call rota.
- 26 days holiday per year increasing to 30 with the length of service. (plus bank holidays)
