About the Role
We are recruiting an experienced nurse to join our Government team in a dynamic, diverse and fulfilling role. Our Nurse-led team, which includes doctors, coordinators and administrators look after overseas-based government employees and their families from a medical perspective. This role presents an exceptional chance for nurses to transition from the rigors of a clinical setting to a UK office-based position, while continuing to apply nursing expertise.

As a Medical Case Manager, you will play a pivotal role in addressing the healthcare needs of our diverse patient base worldwide.
Responsibilities- Conduct routine medical case management activities with a focus on patient well-being and satisfaction.
- Offer medical advice and recommendations to patients and clients through direct communication channels, regardless of location.
- Liaise with international medical professionals to obtain crucial medical information, coordinate treatment, and make recommendations for care changes or upgrades.
- Assess and evaluate medical reports and write referrals to support acute care needs and ensure employer/insurer duty of care.
- Evaluate medical standards of care at the patient’s location against international standards and advise on fitness to fly.
- Conduct pre-travel screening assessments and provide pre-travel overseas medical planning advice.
- Work collaboratively within own competency, advising non-medical staff and consulting with in-house doctors to create a safe medical plan for patients.
- Arrange medical evacuations and repatriations via commercial carriers with medical escorts or by air ambulance.
- Opportunities to act as a medical escort on international repatriations.
- Contribute to internal quality-improvement projects.
The Role / About You
- Registered General Nurse, with a current NMC pin.
- Prior experience in clinical case management is advantageous.
- Exceptional telephone etiquette and technical proficiency, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and databases.
- Experience in one or more of the following areas:
Primary Care / General Medical / Surgical Nursing (adult and/or paediatric);
Acute Care (ICU / ED / AAU);
Cruise Ship Nursing;
Military Nursing;
Public Health / Travel Health Nursing. - Humanitarian / NGO work is an advantage.
- Adept at identifying critical medical issues and promptly escalating them for case management.
- Thrives under pressure in a fast-paced environment with empathy and adaptability.
- Strong written and spoken English; proficiency in additional languages is advantageous.
- Enjoys collaborative team work, with clear short- and long-term plans for patients.
- Willingness to problem-solve for patients worldwide.
- Hold a current NMC Pin and have been working at band 5 or above with a minimum of 3 years’ recent clinical experience.
- Basic IT skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work within a team and directly with clients.
- Ability to work independently to plan and manage caseload.
- Experience in government, military or overseas environments, medical insurance/assistance sector, or repatriation experience is advantageous.
